Teacher Aide Position

The Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher Aides to join our team. These roles are integral to supporting our teachers in delivering effective and engaging learning experiences for students across various subjects and year levels.
As a Teacher Aide, you will work under the direction of classroom teachers to:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational requirements.
Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom resources.
Support students with their academic tasks, understanding instructions, and completing assignments.
Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
Supervise students during breaks, excursions, and other school activities as required.
Assist with administrative tasks related to student support and classroom management.
Contribute to the well-being and pastoral care of students.
We are looking for individuals who possess:
A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their learning journey.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of diverse learning styles and needs.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
A proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
Previous experience working with adolescents or in an educational setting is highly desirable.

Special Character Condition
As a state-integrated Catholic college, the successful applicant must be willing to support, uphold, and be positively involved in the Special Character of the school. This includes being willing and able to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the Special Character of the school, if required
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (CA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/ as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, between $61,329.00 – $103,086.00 per annum plus allowances as above. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.
