During 2011 the sports committee will be organizing and assisting with exchanges like mercy cup (Friday the 24th of June) , St John (Wednesday the 29th of June) and sacred heart (6-7th July) which will be hosted by St Peters. The following sports that will be played at the exchanges are: hockey, soccer, netball, rugby, badminton, basketball. We are also fortunate to have the chance of being involved with super sports and also an up coming inter school cross country for year 7 and 8's on the 22nd of June.

St Peters offers many sports for both winter and summer such as: Soccer, badminton, basketball, archery, netball, canoe polo, rugby, squash, golf, cricket, softball, touch, volleyball and hockey.

Playing sport is one of the favourite activities for most of us. Apart from being a fun activity, sport offers several health benefits, thus contributing to one's physical and mental well-being. Sport plays a vital role in the enhancement of one's personality by being a source of exercise and entertainment.

The benefits of playing sports:

They learn that by working hard they can accomplish the things that they want to in their lives

It keeps students out of trouble

Sport helps develop teamwork and leadership skills.

Quotes:

Sports are human life in microcosm.  ~Howard Cosell

Somewhere behind the athlete you've become and the hours of practice and the coaches who have pushed you is a little girl/boy who fell in love with the game and never looked back... play for her/him.
