The Social Sciences Department at St Peter's College teach students in core and
option programmes across a range of Year Levels.
Not all teaching is within the classroom - study trips and site investigations take place throughout the year.
Social Studies is about developing knowledge and understanding about the
diverse and dynamic nature of society and how people interact with each other and their environments. Social Studies aims to enable students to participate in a changing society as informed, confident, and responsible citizens.
The aim of Geography is to develop an understanding of the environment as the home of people. Geographers do this by looking for all things that make up the natural and cultural environment, and then see how these affect each other.

History is the study of anything that happened in the past. It explores how and why change occurred in human societies over time. It asks us to think about ourselves as individuals and as members of society and cultures, and at those forces and influences that have shaped who we are.
