Junior Academy of Music (JAM)
The Junior Academy of Music (JAM) was established in 2005 to assist Year 7 and 8 students with their musical development. As part of the programmes, the extension class (currently CAd) receive free instrument lessons every week and, in the case of brass instruments, have the use of a school instrument for the whole year.
Tracy Hammond, a respected local and regional musician and teacher, directs and conducts the school band.
The Junior Academy of Music also has a Vocal Band. The Junior Vocal Band is an all-comers choir... no-one has been turned away yet! They sing in school and local events and participated in the Big Sing Competition 2009. They are directed by Kirsten Clark (Vocal Tutor and Choir Director)
