Committee Leader

Job Description

All Senior School Committee Leaders are badged as ‘Senior Leaders’ and should:

Ø    Attend and contribute to Council meetings.


Ø    Have regular Committee meetings (at least fortnightly).

  • Inform members of your Committee of the date, time and venue of the meeting.

  • Book the venue.

  • Prepare an Agenda for the meeting and circulate to members (before or at the meeting).

  • Chair meetings (keep to Agenda).

  • Ensure Minutes are kept and circulated to members with key tasks for individuals to do before the next meeting.

  • Circulate Minutes to Head Boy/Girl, Mr Olivier, Miss Johnson, Miss Gunn, Mr Bowen and staff member contact for your committee.

  • Coordinate publicity for the events you are organising.

  • Keep your committee page of the school website up to date via emails to or collaboration with  Mr Bowen


Ø    Be a role model:

  • Pay attention to your own uniform.

  • Work hard in class and complete assessments and homework.

  • Be punctual.

Ø    Choose a secretary for the committee (with help from Mr Bowen)

They will need to:

  • Attend meetings.

  • Liaise with committee leader and prepare and Agenda for the meeting.

  • Keep minutes of the meeting including key tasks and those responsible.    

  • Circulate minutes to members of the committee and Mr Bowen and Miss Johnson.

  • Prepare a list of the key tasks that have arisen from the meeting.

Ø    Find a deputy from the committee who can lead if necessary


Ø    Attend school Masses (at least twice each term) and parish Masses (one per term - at

      least the ones hosted by St Peter’s)
