What do we do?:

It's been a busy, but exciting year for the Catholic Action Committee so far, our 12 senior members running a successful Survive-a-Slum in Term 1 with over 100 junior spending a weekend in a cardboard box slum and learning about the lives of those less fortunate. We hope to continue our fundraising for Catholic charities and social justice agencies, as well as raising awareness of the injustices they are fighting against. We're contributing to our school's Keys to the Kingdom project in term 2, with each form class raising money for the Fred Hollows Foundation, and we hope to have a fundraising evening to raise money for Christchurch later in term 3.

Caritas is a Catholic charity. The Catholic Action Committee plans fundraising events that help to raise money for Caritas. The main events of the year are Survive-a-Slum and Keys to the Kingdom.

We help to organise and assist with:

Ø    Keys to the Kingdom Project

Ø    Survive-a-Slum

Ø    Promoting awareness of Social Justice

Ø    St Vincent de Paul
